I Thought I Was Dying! My Hypochondria Journey (2026)

Ever feel like your body is a ticking time bomb, filled with mysterious ailments? Well, I did. And, as it turns out, I'm not alone. Turns out, I'm what a vast majority of medical professionals would call a highly creative hypochondriac. But before you roll your eyes, hear me out!

Armed with the vast medical knowledge I've gathered from the internet (yes, I know, the irony isn't lost on me), I've managed to diagnose myself with a whole host of terrifying conditions. The list includes, but is not limited to: heart disease, pancreatitis, various liver and kidney disorders, a blood platelet deficiency, and even the big C – malignancies of the colon and prostate. Oh, and let's not forget Lyme disease and the ever-so-convenient memory loss (though, ironically, I can't quite pinpoint when that one started).

But here's where it gets controversial... That sharp pain I sometimes get when I sleep on my side? Cancer, obviously. A pounding headache after a killer workout? A ticking time bomb – a brain aneurysm, no doubt.

So, if you ever see a tombstone that reads, "I told you so," you'll know it's mine.

What are your thoughts on self-diagnosis? Do you think the internet has made us more or less aware of our health?
