"It's a crime that Amazon reaps billions while its workers struggle to afford homes near the very warehouses that make the company rich," says Randy Korgan, Director of the Teamsters Amazon Division and Secretary-Treasurer of Local 1932.
The workers at DJT6 are not alone in their struggle. They join a growing movement of Amazon facilities across the country, including the KSBD Air Hub, DFX4, DAX5, and DAX8, all in Southern California, and facilities in Queens, New York, and Shepherdsville, Kentucky. Together, they are demanding better pay, healthcare, and safer working conditions, the industry standard that Amazon has thus far denied them.
"Amazon has profited off our labor, but denied our rights," says Samuel Padilla, an Amazon DJT6 warehouse worker. "We're taking a stand and demanding what we've rightfully earned. Amazon may ignore individual workers, but they won't ignore us as a united force."
This movement is a powerful reminder that workers have a voice and the right to fair treatment. With nearly 10,000 Amazon workers nationwide joining this fight, the question arises: Will Amazon listen and recognize the Teamsters Union?
